Bingham County was formed January 13, 1885, from a portion of Oneida County. In 1893, Bingham lost its southern portion to the formation of Bannock County, and its northern portion to the formation of Fremont County. In 1911, Bingham County again lost territory, this time to form the new county of Bonneville. The creation of Power County, in 1913, took a bit of land from Bingham County. And, finally, a small portion went to help form Butte County in 1917.
Bingham's County Seat is Blackfoot.
